In Western countries, scientific advances have achieved that most deficiency and infectious diseases from the past, can be prevented and controled today. Nevertheless, we are witnesses of such situation by chronic pathologies such as respiratory diseases, mainly allergies.

Children population is one of the groups suffering from a higher risk of affectation due to environmental pollutants which are one of the causes directly linked with children’s respiratory health.

This special paediatric vulnerability together with the families right to be able to offer their children a safe environment as well as stable and gratifying demands a qualified information for children population regarding the risks, consequences and prevention measures in front of environmental factors influence on their health.

Last January 18th, Dr. Manuel Praena, Grupo de Vías Respiratorias de la Asociación Española de Pediatría en Atención Primaria coordinator and associated Professor in the University of Seville provided us with this qualified information during a conference especially adressed to parents who are sensible to their children’s health and he provided them some prevention measures to cope with respiratory diseases.

The conference was for free and organized by Fundació Roger Torné in collaboration with Fundación “la Caixa” in the frame of  AIRE. Respiración y salud infantil exhibition.
