Asthma is the most frequent chronicle disease suffered by children and teenagers nowadays and its prevalence is estimated between 8% and 14%. The relationship between asthma and allergies increases as children grow. A precocious treatment is essential in order to void a permanent harm in the respiratory tracks.
Asthma crisis can be prevented by respiratory exercises; teaching respiratory education to children is possible by physic-classes, where these habits are integrated by means of games.
This is the experience developed by Fundació Roger Torné in the frame of its Respiro program that was explained by Dr Marie-Christine Esteve, Fundació Roger Torné Medical Director together with Mr Enrique del Campo, respiratory Physiotherapist in Sant Joan de Deu Hospital, during this free conference especially addressed to parents who are sensible to their children’s health subject.
The conference was organized by Fundació Roger Torné in collaboration with Fundació “la Caixa” in the frame of AIRE. Respiración y salud infantil exhibition.
