Inauguration of the exhibition AIRE in Madrid
Last November 17th, in coincidence with the International Day of Pure Air, we inaugurated Aire. Respiración y salud infantil exhibition in CosmoCaixa Madrid, after having been in CosmoCaixa Barcelona for one year and having received more than 324,000 visits.
Fundació Roger Torné counted with Fundació “la Caixa” invaluable collaboration together with the Observatory of Sustainability in Spain (OSE), which celebrated an extraordinary forum on “Quality of air and urban sustainability”, a session that was presented by OSE’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Luis Jiménez Herrero, and that was chaired by OSE’s Scientific Consultant, Mr Domingo Jiménez Beltrán; the following lecturers took part on it:
- Soledad Román – Fundació Roger Torné’s General Director.
- Roberto San José – UPM’s Professor, Doctor on Physics and Grupo de Modelos y Software para el Medio Ambiente’s Director.
- Ramon Folch – Socioecologist, Estudi Ramón Folch i Associats’s President and Commissioner in Aire exhibition.
- Arturo Larena – Environmental Communicator and EFE Verde’s Director.
- Alicia Montalvo – Oficina Cambio Climático’s (MARM) General Director.
The participants exposed their thinking, starting each one of them in their own area of action, the importance of tackling the quality of air when we speak about urban sustainability.
The season finished with a guided visit to the exhibition where, as Dr Folch announced, the result of a filter placed in an area with intense traffic in Barcelona can be seen, among many other things. It shows at first sight that there is something more than air in the air we are breathing. You are all invited to discover it in CosmoCaixa Madrid until November 18th 2012.
