Whether we have enjoyed our holidays or not, August is normally a month where our activities rhythm changes and we can relax and leave until September the planning we carry out during the rest of the year. This is why, during the first days in this month, devoting some time to organize the agenda for the new school season is usual, as well as checking our pending tasks and making our mind up to carry out plans that we could not undertake the previous season. It is something like putting things in order and establishing new priorities with a renewed vitality which is product from the rest we have enjoyed.
Before leaving on holidays, in Fundació Roger Torné we established the new calendar regarding Respiro, our main activity during each school year. Respiro is a project that has become consolidated year after year and, at the moment, there are many families enjoying it who consider this project as a priority in their agendas.
Respiro is an integral program addressed to children, where the respiratory system is exercised at a physical level in order to prevent crisis or respiratory diseases, which are so usual among children during the school year. But, besides, it is an educational project since it intends that children improve their knowledge about Nature promoting, at the same time, physical exercise and patience; observation, reflection and capacity of decision are put into practice as well. And the most important thing, it has also a recreational purpose. Participants enjoy coming back since all the activities are carried out as games, trying that children develop the pleasure for adventure and discovery.
The first new Respiro appointment is an Open Doors Day for families interested on knowing the project. It will take place next Saturday, September 10th. In our Foundation, we understand that children’s health is a priority in any family’s agenda. Respiro has into account children’s health in a preventive sense but also, as we say, it has an educational and recreational feature, so we understand it is an interesting and beneficial project when planning an extra activity for children out of school hours. This is why we think that it is important that parents and guardians in general know both the project and the people involved on it while asking their questions and visit the place where the project is developed.
But, please, do not think that it is a meeting for explanations given in a building’s room in the city. The Open Doors Day has been organized as any other Respiro day; it has been prepared so that participants have a nice and enjoyable day seeing themselves the games and workshops practiced by children while they enjoy the landscape beauty, in Montseny Natural Park. All in it is a day in family in the middle of Nature.
We will leave Barcelona at 8.45 a.m. by coach. When getting to the place, and after a welcome breakfast, we will enjoy some games in family whose subject is related with the environment. One of them is the bearings game. After having lunch, we will organize some respiration workshops and handicrafts for the children as well as a talk addressed to the adults who will also have the opportunity to take a walk to visit the surroundings in the company of some members belonging to our Foundation with whom they will be able to talk and clarify the doubts they can have regarding the project.
Our priority is children’s health and we hope this initiative to be interesting for all those families who are thinking on a healthy, funny and educational activity for their children during next school year. It is with this intention that we invite you all to come with us next September 10th.
