Toni Aguilar founded TDHF (The Direct Help Foundation) on 2000, after a journey to Nepal where he met some children who struggled to make end meet in the streets of Karmandu. They subsisted as he could, with no future in sight. After having his family and closest friends’ support, Toni decided to start what today has become the direct help: TDHF, one organization that is realistic in its projects and that has a high level of solidarity.
Doctor on Economy and Director of the Professorship on Economy of Energy and Environment in the University of Seville-Fundació Roger Torné. He is an expert on Public Economy and Economic Evaluation of Public Policies, area where he works as advisor for various public Civil Services. Regarding the area of Economy of Energy, his researches have been published in international magazines such as Applied Economic Letters, Energy Policy or Annals of Regional Sciences, among others. As propagator, he collaborates in different media both by writing and speaking.
Doctor in Biology, socioechologist. His fields of action are research, territorial and urbanistic management from a sustainable approach, approach that he has contributed to define and develop. From 1994 he manages his own professional studio, ERF – Estudi Ramon Folch i Associats S.L, responsible on the concept, script and documentation of “Aire. Respiración y salud infantil” exhibition created by Fundació Roger Torné and from which he is commissioner. Dr Ramon Folch belongs to Fundació Roger Torné Board of Advisors, as well.
Doctor on Medicine, pediatrician, AEPAP Grupo de Vías Respiratorias coordinator and Professor of Pediatrics in the University of Seville. In Barcelona, he gave the lecture “Can we spare our children the respiratory diseases?” organized by Fundació Roger Torné in collaboration with Fundació “la Caixa” and he took part in the talk-colloquium “children’s health and environment: do we know the keys of this relationship?” that was issued to present “Salud infantil y medio ambiente. Una relación de por vida” guide, where he has also participated.
Doctor on Medicine and Surgery, specialized on Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine. He worked as epidemiologist in the Instituto Municipal de Investigación Médica in Barcelona between 1984 and 1988 and ever since, he has been a senior researcher in this Institution. He is Co-Director in the Centro de Investigación en Epidemiología Ambiental (CREAL), Director of the IMIM’s Epidemiology and Public Health Program, and Professor in the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. He is the coordinator of the study of the neonates, childhood and Environment groups (INMA Project).
