Support for research
Fundació Roger Torné is totally commited to children. For that reason, aside from assuming prevention in a very straightforward work with children through our breathing education programmes that are organized outdoors, and aside from spreading, through our diffusion programmes, the lack of protection that children suffer when they see their health affected by environmental factors, we consider essential to support research concerning children health and environment.
Diffusion of topics related with children environmental health is deeply connected with the need to address to the citizens the results of scientific investigations. Fundació Roger Torné is not scientific but it is aware of the important role that research plays in health, and that is why it supports projects such as the CREAL’s Childhood and Environment, and the Professorship of Economy of Energy and Environment, which was created together with Seville University.
We need reliable results, scientifically constrasted. And to address to the citizens the conclusions of these results, translated into a day-by-day language, is the mission of the Fundació. But to do that, it is necessary that scientific projects get ahead and give their essential conclusions for us to work in the improvement of development and health conditions in our children, and to create prevention measures, as well as to gather some data that makes evident that these improvements and measures need to be done.
