In the beginning of 1980, Josep Torné i Pardell came up with the idea of creating a charity foundation for children without family support or in a serious economic-cultural environment and donated personal equity to start to fund the project.
On 22 May 1984 the Roger Torné Foundation was formally established. Since then and until the death of Josep Torné in 2000, the Foundation actively participated in the Catalan Coordinating Committee and in the drawing up of the code of ethics. During these years, he carried out extremely diverse patronage initiatives, both with regard to objectives and their locations: Close to 100 entities and individuals located in Catalonia, Spain, Latin America, Africa and Asia received financial aid.
The distribution of aid during this period had the following distribution:

In 2004, UNICEF nominated the Roger Torné Foundation as an honorary member due to the important contributions it made that year in the Timor reconstruction project.
Between 2000 and 2006, the Roger Torné Foundation also investigated different routes in order to have its own social project, which was started up starting in 2006.
Presently, the Foundation works on this project, whose main objective is preventing child health through breathing education and contact with nature and raising awareness on civil society about the importance of the environment in the health of boys and girls. All the activities are done in collaboration with other entities of the public sphere that work in different areas of child vulnerability.
